硅灰石是一种链状偏硅酸盐矿物，三斜晶系，细板状晶体，集合体呈放射状或纤维状。在改性塑料中利用其独特的针状结构，主要起到增强制品机械强度、尺寸稳定性和改善加工工艺等特点。作为高性能矿物改性材料，海扬高长径比硅灰石在各类热塑性树脂体系中效果显著。
