■ Brief Introduction
Magnesium hydroxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Mg(OH)₂. It is a white amorophous powder or colorless hexagonal column crystal, soluble in dilute acid and ammonium salt solutions, almost insoluble in water.The part dissolved in water is completely ionized,and weakly alkaline in aqueous solutions. Heating to 350 ℃ to loses water to form magnesium oxide, a natural mineral of magnesium hydroxide, can be used as a flame retardant.
